We recommend Conch & Coconut for your boating needs, especially for full- or half-day charters to see the swimming pigs, the famous sandbar swings in the middle of the ocean, or sunset cruising on the water. For fishing, there’s nobody better than the legendary Devon Sawyer, famously known as Daddy D and owner of the eponymous nightclub on Harbour Island. Devon can be reached on Instagram at @daddydsnightclub or on WhatsApp at (242) 359-7006.

We’d like to go out fishing, or do a boat charter for a half day, which services do you recommend?

Yes, we have a brand new gas generator which comes on automatically in the event of a power outage and will automatically turn off once the island power has been restored. However, a power outage might cause the loss of internet access for a moment if power goes out on the entire island, which can happen. We have starlink satellite access for backup internet, should that occur (thanks, Elon Musk!)

Do you have a generator for the house?

Yes, we do have a pool heater. Please let us know if you’d like the pool to be heated and we can accommodate you at an additional cost of $100 a day. Generally, the pool doesn’t need to be heated during the late Spring and Summer months.

Is the pool heated?

The best answer to this question is: almost never. Exceptions can be made on a case by case basis but those exceptions come with a long list of rules and additional financial considerations. In general, I’d assume that dogs are not allowed. There are other dog friendly houses on Harbour Island and we recommend looking at those if bringing your dog is a deal breaker.

Are dogs allowed at Fig Tree?

Our property manager has contacts with great local vendors and can make these arrangements during your stay, whether it's for a multi-course seated dinner at the house, a poolside bartender for cocktail hour, or a babysitter for your kiddos so that you can have a night out. It’s best to book these services in advance, especially during high season as these vendors book up!

How can I hire a private chef to cook at the house or a babysitter for a night out?

The closest beach access to Fig Tree is a 3 min golf cart ride (or 7-10 min walk) via a boardwalk down Clarence Street, just past Hibiscus Hill. We provide beach chairs, umbrellas, and a cooler for your use while staying at Fig Tree.
However, if you would prefer not to bring anything beyond your beach towel, we suggest accessing the beach next to Ocean View Club and renting two chairs and an umbrella for $25 from Ms. V. She has a full bar and grill with items for purchase and complimentary sand toys for the little ones. There is a similar access down Chapel Street next to Coral Sands Hotel.

Each restaurant is different with their reservation process. Most require an email or phone call directly (we provide a landline phone at the house) - both phone numbers and emails can generally be found on their website. Some restaurants also require a deposit or credit card to hold your reservation.

How do I get reservations for dinner? Where are your favorite dinner spots for casual and fine dining?

You can refer to the “location” tab for instructions on getting to the house. Once you’ve arrived, the front gate with the “Fig Tree” sign should be unlocked. Enter the property via the door on the left side of the house under the portico and the house keys will be on the kitchen counter. If you would like a member of our housekeeping staff or property manager to be on property to greet you, please let us know. Check in time is at 4PM and check out is at 11AM. Please note that early arrivals and late departures can only be accommodated with advance notice, however should you arrive before 4PM, you may drop your bags at the house and enjoy the island until the agreed upon check-in time.

How do I get to Fig Tree, and what do I need to do to get in the house?

Yes, we have stacks of beach/pool towels. We also have several portable beach chairs, an umbrella, beach coolers, sand toys, and boogie boards for use during your stay at Fig Tree.

Do you provide towels and beach supplies?

Yes, renting a golf cart is necessary to get around Harbour Island. Cart rentals range from $60/day to $100+/day for basic to luxury. We recommend booking via Major’s or Conch & Coconut in advance of your stay, and well in advance during high season.
